The Alliance of Independent Physicians was founded in 2025 by a group of local physicians who saw a need for a better way. Tired of the increasing administrative burdens and the loss of autonomy in modern healthcare, they came together to build a network that would give independent practices the collective power to thrive. Today, we are a growing community of physicians dedicated to that original vision.

Robert Hacker, M.D.
Dr. Robert Hacker is board-certified in both General and Vascular Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and President of the Alliance of Independent Practitioners. He brings extensive leadership experience and strategic vision to guide the organization's mission.

Dr. Hashim S. Raza is a board-certified internist with hospital privileges at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. He maintains board records and ensures proper documentation of all meetings and decisions.

George Mansour, M.D.
Dr. George Mansour is a board-certified internist practicing in St. Louis with affiliations across the region’s major health systems. As Treasurer of the Alliance of Independent Practitioners, he oversees financial stewardship, budgeting, and sustainable growth for the organization. His experience in both clinical practice and healthcare operations supports sound fiscal planning while advancing the mission of independent physicians.

Amit Bhandarkar, M.D.
Dr. Amit Bhandarkar is a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Spine Surgeon specializing in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery and Endoscopic Spine Surgery. He has been instrumental in developing strategic initiatives for physician recruitment and member engagement.

Scott Hardeman, M.D.
Dr. Scott Hardeman is a board-certified otolaryngologist, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and Team ENT Physician for the St. Louis Cardinals, practicing with Gateway ENT. He has held leadership roles including Chairman of the St. Louis Physician Alliance and remains deeply committed to preserving private practice and the physician–patient relationship. As Member-at-Large, he brings front-line perspective on advocacy, quality, and independent practice viability.

Jill Scherbel, M.D.
Dr. Jill Scherbel completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame, earned her medical degree from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University, and completed Obstetrics and Gynecology training at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 2016. She has since practiced women's health care in St. Louis with a patient-centered approach grounded in compassion and practical guidance. Living in Glendale with her husband, TJ, and their large family, she brings a deeply personal understanding of the joys and challenges women face at every stage of life and is committed to supporting women across the St. Louis community.

Andrew Dawson, D.O.
Dr. Andrew Dawson is a neurologist in Lake St. Louis, Missouri, affiliated with Mercy Hospital St. Louis. He earned his medical degree from A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and has been in practice for 11 to 20 years. His clinical expertise includes Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and multiple sclerosis, among other neurologic conditions.
